What Can I Do Once a Request Has Reached the State “Finished”?

Overview

When a Request in Intapp Open reaches the workflow state Finished, it is considered fully completed. At this point, the Request cannot be reopened, edited, or rolled back

If further updates or corrections are required, these must be completed through a Matter Maintenance (MM) Request.


Can I Make Changes After a Request Is Finished?

No. A Request in the “Finished” state cannot be altered.


To make any updates — including changes to Matter information, Fee Earners, or Matter Partners — you will need to create a Matter Maintenance (MM) Request


How to Update the Matter Partner or Fee Earner

If you need to change the Matter Partner (MP) or Fee Earner (FE):

  1. Create a Matter Maintenance (MM) Request.
  2. Within the MM Request, ensure that the specific checkbox shown in the system screenshot (in your internal documentation) is selected.
    • This checkbox is required to permit changes to the Matter Partner or Fee Earner fields.

If this box is not selected, the system will block changes to these roles.


Important Notes

  • The “Finished” state is final; Requests cannot be revived or rolled back.
  • All post‑completion edits must follow the formal MM workflow.
  • Ensure you select the correct options in the MM Request to unlock the fields you need to change.
